Introducing the 2010 Health Care Cost and Utilization Report

The Health Care Cost Institute is pleased to share The Health Care Cost and Utilization Report: 2010, a new report showing that rising prices for care were the chief drivers of health care spending for privately-insured Americans in 2010. This report is the first of its kind to track changes in expenditures and utilization of health care services by those younger than 65 covered by employer sponsored health insurance.

Prices Drive Health Spending Growth

Based on three billion health insurance claims provided by three of the nation’s largest health plans, the data represent the health care spending of 33 million Americans across the country (view map).
